Final PT for Winter 2009

Well, today I had my Final PT test. AND, although I still didn't pass (buggard) I was close. Here are the previous results and the results from today:

Here were the original scores taken 12 January:
Push-ups: 14
Sit-ups: 16
2 Mile Run: 27:15
Total PT points: 85

Scores taken 23 February:
Push-ups: 21 (passed)
Sit-ups: 33
2 Mile Run: 23:23
Total PT points: 147

Scores taken today, 23 March: (AND, I was running on an injured knee... not smart.)
Push-ups: 36 (83 points)
Sit-ups: 42 (57 points... missed it by 3 points or 3 sit-ups)
2 Mile Run: 21:03 (55 points... missed it my 33 seconds)
Total PT points: 195

I'm excited that I've improved so much, yet, at the same time... I know I can do better. I beat each of my personal goals. However, with my knee, I'm not allowed to run until next semester. I have to get it healed and up to par before the Cadre is going to let me run again. (Sad to say, I'm okay with that.)

Anyway... next PT test will probably be 27 April. I KNOW I can pass the PT test then. Wish me luck with lab this weekend, and also prayers for my knee!

Happy day!

The Military Ball...

I can't express just how much fun I had at the Military Ball on Friday night. It was such a hoot! The best date I've ever been on. If only more men were like my date... I'd be out dating all the time! (Please don't share that with people!)

Here are a few fun pictures and videos from Friday:

It's too late, to turn back now...

Hi family and friends!

Okay, the military ball is coming up tomorrow, and... well....

I'M TOTALLY EXCITED!

Yup! I am going to our ROTC Military Ball, and although if I wasn't in the program then I would be going just as an employee. However, since I'm taking classes and plan to join the Army after I'm done with my nursing degree (graduation date is December 2012), I have to go the military ball as a cadet. (Mandatory.)

I wanted to go with my brother Keola, but I don't think he would've been able to with drill the previous weekend, having to work and also doing school. So... I was a bit down having to go find a "date". Blah! So, needless-to-say, another cadet and I who are both anti-dating/anti-ball, are going together.

Permission to speak freely: He is one fine looking brother! ha ha ha ha ha ha! I can't believe I just wrote that on here. Well, it's true. He's very cute, and fun, and cracks me up. A very sure and driven person. His personality is always positive and it's infectious. Anyway, it should be a fun evening. But mind you, we're not calling this a "date".

I'll post pictures on here after the event.

Here's to great men in uniform! (I'm so glad no one knows who I'm talking about!) =)

P.S. The cost of my total outfit: under $35!!! Dang, I'm good!

Strawberry Mochi Ice Cream & a Melona Bar!!!!

Can you believe that there are people who have never savored the delictable flavors of strawberry mochi ice cream and a melona bar (ice cream, too.)? It's a crime!

I did find some pictures of them, but am unable to put them on here. That's where google comes in great! =) Happy hunting.

Happy March!

Aloha one and all...

Well, lots has happened since the last blog. But, since I don't have time to write anything of major importance, I will leave you with well wishes for a very happy March. Hope it's the best March ever.

One love,

PT mid-term!!!

Hello friends...

This morning we had our PT mid-term. And, although I still failed =) I've improved since the first PT exam.

Here were the original scores taken 12 January:
Push-ups: 14
Sit-ups: 16
2 Mile Run: 27:15

Scores taken today, 23 February:
Push-ups: 21
Sit-ups: 33
2 Mile Run: 23:23

I'm so excited!

Do you remember when I said that I'm giving myself until the end of the summer to qualify for the PT exam? (That means getting a score of 60 in each event: 17, 45, 20:30 respectively.) Well, I think I'm going to strive for the end of this semester. I'm glad some of the older cadets were encouraging me and even congratulated me for improving so much, especially on the run. "I'M ON FIRE"!!!! ha ha ha...

New Goals for the end of the semester, 23 March:
Push-ups: 25
Sit-ups: 54
2 Mile Run: 19:18
(That's a score of 70 in each event.)

Thing is, I have to qualify every semester and every PT exam after that. I can do it! Here's to being ARMY strong!

The Original Love Me for Me...

I created a fun video for my family and friends for Christmas 2007. I don't I've posted it on here before, but here you go. The song on the video, really is me. It's not perfect, but that was a perfect night for me. I'll hopefully do another video to recap 2008 and post it on here in the near future. Hope you enjoy the video.

Much love to one and all...

ROTC random blogging...

Some of you may be wondering if I joined the Army... and the answer is no. Well, not yet anyway. I just wanted to put a little something up here to see how I would look in my uniform. I am participating in the ROTC program, though. This is my first year, and the fall semester will start my second.
I love the things I'm learning in the program and the friends I've been able to make. It seems that a lot of these things are almost like review since my dad was in the military as well. (Like our combatives that we do - my dad would do the same thing with my brothers. It's quite interesting and fun.)
I should start taking pictures of when I'm at combatives and post it on here. You'd be amazing at the things we do and learn. Today, we worked on disarming someone with a gun (fake gun) and knife (fake as well). Then, when we played some games, where two teams attack each other, I ended up getting in a blood choke-hold, and well... my throats pretty sore. ha ha ha! Love it! Oh, and not to mention... I have this really weird bruise on my right hand. I don't know how I got it, but I know I got it from combatives.
Anyway, lab is next week. I hope I've improved from the last lab. =)

Fighting for a Purpose...

How many of us honestly understand the price of freedom?

What does it cost to live in the "land of the free"?

What have you paid? A son? A daughter? A husband? A friend?

There are so many who give so much to fight and defend something they may not totally understand. But they know and do understand to put the mission, the country and others first.

Love.

That's what we pay.

We pay for freedom by love.

Our loved ones... our love for our country... the love of others... everyone pays a price.

What has it cost you?

And what are you paying?

Venting

At what point does it becomes a person A's fault if the actions of person B imposed on person A consists of control, mistrust, and signs of abuse?

There are some things that require zero tolerance.

Person A will not bend.
