Babysitting

It's kind of  strange how you find part if who you are or are not by watching and taking care of someone else's children. I've been watching a friend's children and they are a hoot! So grown up with their opinions and matter of factness. It gets really funny when they bust out... "well, that's not how my mommy does it". Yeah - gotta love that one.  Anyway.... here are some photos I took or the children took. Enjoy!

Dom wanted to stick his face in his Ice cream.... i let him!

One of my favorite pictures of the cutest boy having fun in the water.

Oh the animals they have.... These are only two of.... I have no clue!

Children - an Eye Opener

Today started early with going to the gym. I was supposed to meet one of the guys from my unit who works at my gym to get me started on a program for my goals for the next six months, but he never showed. Duche... but I worked out on my own and my bottom hurt! I can't believe I haven't really worked out hard in such a long time. I hope I never let myself go that long again.

Anyway, moving right along.

Children.

Babysitting.

An eye opener.

I was introduced to 3 cute children ages 7, 6 and 4.... although cute, they were definitely teenagers stuck in young bodies! Man alive, I kept asking myself if I was really ready to be a mother and what was I thinking that I could handle or even have children etc.... Of course, all the negative self talk started kicking in.

However, as the day progressed and I got back into the rhythm of being around children, the mommy voice, etc all came back. It was nice being around children again... even though they do have a TON of energy. I don't know how I did it!

I am thankful though because it brought up a bunch of concerns I had about being a mother... whether being a stay at home mom is the best for me, should I be around family to help raise the babies, what if I am by myself and no significant other around, if I was with someone who already had children - would they even like me? how do I be a co-parent and friend without the children feeling like I was taking their mother's place? Am I ready to be a mother at all? Would I loose who I am after having children?

Blah, blah, blah.... as you can see... just a few thoughts that came up.

But you know what? I got asked to cover the rest of the week for the other babysitter that just flaked on my friend. To be honest, I'm actually looking forward to hanging out with the children these next few days! I'll get to know myself again and discover my strengths and weaknesses as a parental/adult influence. Then, if any issues come up, at least they'll be identified and I'll be able to work on them.

Tonight I went to my storage unit and got some plastic throw balls I used for military PT with my platoon, and tomorrow we'll be painting them... throwing them... having water/ball fights with them... maybe even some kick ball. I don't know. I'm also thinking of doing some small educational crafts to get them back in the mood/mind-set for school since they start school next Monday.

Anyway, I'm sure I'll have a hilarious update for everyone tomorrow or the next day

Love and light!

XOXOXOXO

Here's to getting back to the inner child! Puddles here we come!

The Secret....

A while ago I watched the movie - The Secret. Tonight, I am watching it again... or rather it's sort of watching me as I bobble head in typing this and fall asleep.

Mainly:
- Thoughts become Reality
- Be aware of our thoughts because what we have in our lives we have attracted through our thoughts in some shape or form.
- If we keep thinking about the negative, more negativity is going to be manifested and show up for us in our lives.
- When we think positively, that energy radiates out and attracts more positivity in our lives.
- If we feel good, we're creating a future that corresponds with our future, if feeling bad - we attract things not in line with our desires for the future.
....

Sometimes I think we just need to know what we want in our realities and then focus on that.

I know... randomness.

Anyway, if any has or has not read or seen The Secret, I recommend it.

Off to bed now... up early to work out.

Love and light.

Birthdays and West Yellowstone

Yesterday was my mom's birthday and also Brittney Jo (Hanson) Hales' birthday. It was a nice day. If I ever needed to take a day for myself, I can say that yesterday would have been that day for me. It started with a massage 2 hour massage from 8 - 10am. (Granted, I didn't fully relax and check out because it was a Functional Change report for one of the students, and I was her body to work on. Although I was giving her feedback and helping her to feel confident when it comes to working on the body - she did well, and I got to get worked on for a bit.)

I was then able to have brunch with Miss Jody, and Miss Kellee from Roberts. It was nice to sit, eat, and talk. (I don't really have a lot of friends I go and do things with, so meeting new people and getting to know them is always a nice thing.)

That afternoon I met Brittney and Ryan at their home for a lovely trip to Rexburg to pick up Bybers and then off to West Yellowstone to attend the Playmill. The last time the four of us went up to West Yellowstone was 2 years ago a few months after I got home from Hawai'i. It was nice to go up (although I took a nap all the way up there), and eat at the same little diner and see Beauty and the Beast. It was a packed house at the theatre, but it was also pretty fun. Lots of the characters cracked me up... and some of them irritated the peanuts out of me. (The really girlie girls that fall all over and swoon over Gaston... irrrrrrrrrriiiiiiiiiiitating. lol)

At the end of the show, as we were walking to the car, I peeked into one of the shop windows and got totally giddy! The store was selling gem stones! I got so excited and asked my friends if it was alright to go in for a quick look. Well, we went in, and as I was oohing and aaaahing, I was educating my friends on the healing properties of the different stones. It was a lot of fun. I even saw that some of those stones were really cheap! Good quality and cheap!!!!!!!!! I made a mental note to come back for Christmas shopping. It was lovely.

The drive back to Idaho Falls was a long one. I stayed awake and talked to the drivers to make sure they stayed awake while driving. Idaho Falls couldn't come fast enough, but we made it back there a little after 11pm. By the time I ended up getting home it was about midnight.

I can't say that I was totally excited about getting up early this morning to work on one of the students (her massage was from 10 - 12)... yeah - it was rough to get OUT of bed. ha ha ha... However, it was a great massage. She definitely needed it.

Anyway, that's the majority of the day yesterday and today. I have a workout in the early morning at 6am. I am still at work and will probably stay the night as I get some things together for tomorrow. (I have to go to the armory to get some medical paperwork for my shoulder, and to see when and what time my sit-down appointment is to see if there are any other open MOS for our local area.) I'm also watching a friend's children tomorrow. Well, she's a friend of Jasmine's and I like her, but I have some reservations.... not sure why. Overall, she's a really cool person and I'm glad I get to help her with her children and watch them tomorrow. I think I'll take them to the museum or zoo, grab a late lunch, and then make dinner for their mom.

Okay - much love and light to one and all. Hope these pictures come up on here. LOL
