Sad News

Well, it's Tuesday, December 23, 2009, and I am in Yuma, Arizona. On my way down to visit with my parents in Nevada, I received a phone call that my grandfather had a stroke and was on his way to the hospital. So, instead of stopping in St. George on Thursday, my parents met me in Mesquite and drove the rest of the way to Las Vegas with me. Friday morning my parents and I drove to Yuma and have been here since then.

I've been watching him since Sunday on my own. I've helped the nurses turn him, change him, swab his mouth, do therapy, put tubes in, etc... It's been quite the experience, but I'm glad I've had this opportunity to take care of him. Right now he's resting after a long hard day. He's had a lot of visitors today: five different doctors, tons of family members that came in, more attempts at the NG tube, sitting up in a chair, therapy etc.

So, please, if anyone is reading this blog, please pray for my grandfather and our family. He's been really good, but today he said he wanted to die. If he does... God be with us.

Merry Christmas everyone. Please call the ones you love. There's never enough time to put off what "should" be done today.

All my love and best wishes this holiday season. Be smart and safe.

New Place to Live

Well... it's that time of year again...

to look for another place to live.

My contract is up with the home I'm renting, and although I have personal issues with it, I was willing to rent it until April 2009. However, the landlord e-mailed and said "I have a family moving in to the house after your contract is up. I figured this will give you more than enough time to look for another place to live."

No comment. I'm looking for another place. Not fun. A little stressful. But I trust the Lord knows where He needs me.

Here's to finding a new place to live.

New Job starts Thursday!

Yes. I'm excited for the new job starting Thursday. I'm a bit tired from training and being trained, and my brain is on overload, but hey... what do you do, right?

Oh, and I got approved to take a vacation to Hawai'i! My new boss asked, "So, how big is your house?" Basically, he wanted to take his wife to Hawai'i and thought that if I went on vacation, then he should too! (The more the merrier, eh?)

I just need to verify some dates with my brother to make sure when his two children will be baptized and also if I can get that date approved. My new boss also suggest I go during Christmas break so I can have more time there. (I work with great people!)

Anyway, life is stresssssssful right now. Hope yours is better.

Much love~

Welcome to Idaho!

The other week I had the great opportunity of rounding up steers.

I was visiting the Hinckley's back home in Lewisville. Well, we got a phone call that the steers got loose, so, if you can imagine 3 older people and a local girl from the islands rounding up cattle with our arms out, grain for temptation and our vehicles... well, then you just imagined our evening! Here's a picture of a few of the steers!

Welcome to Idaho!

New Job at BYU-Idaho!!!

Yes friends, I got another position here on campus.

It's working in the Recreation Management Department and also with the Events and other stuff with the College of Business and Communication. I went in for training today during my lunch. It'll definitely be a bit different, but I think my transition over there will be okay. The transition here in the office might be a bit difficult though.

Please pray that all will be well with the office of CE. There are quite a few people who are feeling the affect pretty drastically of my leaving.

Big hopes...

For my writing course for school, my instructor put a "Further Study" link for us to watch. I hope you each get to watch this short video. To me, it really is inspiring.

Chicago Review

Here are a few more pictures from Chicago!

Here's Kristen and I at the Aguilera's home in Chi-town.

I really liked this sign. Eric, Tad and I ate at a restaurant before the baseball game... good times.

Here's Tad and Eric!!!

Hm... we'll you'd have to be someone who does not drink or curse to think this sign is funny!

Here's Eric. He was looking at something when I saw this and had to snap the shot!

Serious! This sign is a real sign on the sidewalk!

Stickshift & Safety Belts

My seat belt in my car is not working so well. No bueno.

It's early morning, and my body is already exhausted.

Sleep.

Slumber.

Rest.
